Introduction

High resolution capillary electophoresis (CE) offers many qualitative and quantitative advantages over gel electrophoresis. The resulting trace files can be used for calculating relative abundance of a samples components and their quality. Common nucleic acid quality values like; RIN (RNA integrity number), RQN (RNA quality number), GQN (genomic quality number) and % ribosomal RNA, that are used to judge a nucleic acid are based on the integrated areas from a CE trace file.
